Mariano has been involved in simulation since 2006 and is currently the founding Director of Simulation and Skills Education at Pepperdine University. Previously, he served as Manager of Simulation at Ross University School of Medicine, overseeing simulation administration, curriculum deployment, and operations at the Miramar campus and satellite centers.
Earlier in his career, Mariano worked at the University of Miami Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education, managing A/V infrastructure, high-fidelity simulation systems, and technical logistics in support of the U.S. Army Trauma Training Center. He was also a founding member of the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies’ International Academy for Clinical Simulation and Research, serving as Assistant Director of Operations during its initial design, development, and implementation.
Beyond simulation, Mariano has extensive experience in IT system administration, system integration, programming, media broadcasting, and online development.
From 2019 to 2021, he was the South East regional leader of FHSA. While currently in a leadership role in California, he remains actively engaged with FHSA, serving as the technology and operations leader for the Florida Alliance.
