Experience: nursing informatics, gaming, virtual simulation, research & immersive learning and realities, especially VR.

Fellow in both the American Academy of Nursing and NLN Academy of Nursing Education.

130+ publications and co-author of four textbooks.

She defined informatics in 1991 and co-founded the Online Journal of Nursing Informatics (OJNI), a professional, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal in 1996. She was Editor in Chief for 17 years and OJNI is currently published by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

Actively exploring and investigating the concept of the metaverse and her team launched a public metaverse space and is currently developing in the private space of this metaverse to develop immersive learner experiences for a variety of disciplines.
