FX MAKEUP SERIES: Glass Debris Wound

In this makeup effects video, we demonstrate how to make a fake cut or making a wound using Skin Tite on-skin silicone rubber.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Arm Wound Skin Effect Dispense equal parts Skin Tite A & B. Add Thi-Vex Thickener. Add Silc-Pig Fleshtone pigment. Mix thoroughly. Modify the color with additional Silc-Pig. Apply directly to skin. Sculpt wound detail into Skin Tite. Allow to cure for 5 minutes.

Dispense more Skin Tite. Add Silc-Pig Blood pigment. Mix thoroughly. Apply second layer of Skin Tite. Lightly apply Skin Tite to blend edges. Allow to cure for 5 minutes.

Dispense more Skin Tite. Add Silc-Pig Black pigment. Mix thoroughly. Apply to cured Skin Tite. Use around wound edges to add depth. Allow to cure for 5 minutes.

Cured wound is flesh-like and durable. Skin Tite stays put until removed. Optional Step: Adding Rubber Glass Rubber Glass flexible silicone for glass effects. Rubber Glass disk is broken into “shards.”

Dispense more Skin Tite. Add Silc-Pig Blood and mix thoroughly. Apply to the center of the wound. Press Rubber Glass pieces in place as Skin Tite cures. Allow to cure for 5 minutes.

Cured Skin Tite holds Rubber Glass in place. The finished wound is flexible and durable.

Appliance Removal

Begin by removing Rubber Glass pieces. The Skin Tite can be slowly peeled away.

Skin Tite® can be combined with Silc-Pig® silicone pigments and a small amount of Thi-Vex® thixotropic additive to create silicone appliances directly on the skin.
