I'm a Brazilian family physician, medical educator, and simulationist who moved to Orlando-Fl recently. Being a medical educator for the last 13 years led the way to mold my experiences as a faculty, medical school coordinator, physician, and researcher. My meaningful professional goal is to create a positive impact on future medical health professionals.
I have a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Health Sciences, a graduate degree in Health Education from the University of Sao Paulo, and another degree in Educational Processes in digital modality.
My interest in creative ways of teaching led me to develop new simulators, games, and new learning strategies for teaching. I also created and carried out training courses for medical educators’ development on active methodologies, clinical simulation, and gamification.
Since 2017, I´ve developed new simulators and games to help teach medical students. In recent months I have been developing a VR platform for teaching semiology through virtual patients.
Special interest in medical simulation, virtual reality (VR), extended and augmented reality (XR/AR), gamification, and serious games for medical and health professions learning.
Invited researcher of CEDEM – Development Center of Medical Education USP.
